What is a URL?

A URL is a “web address” that browsers use to retrieve published information.

What is a search bar?

A search bar allows people to search for content (query) on the web. It is generally identified with a magnifying glass icon.

What is a search engine?

A search engine is a website that helps people get to the web page they are looking for. Popular examples of search engines are Google, Microsoft Bing, and Yahoo!.

What is an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate?

An SSL certificate is an electronic document used to prove the validity of a website. In a nutshell, SSL certs initiate a secure internet connection and prevent criminals from reading or downloading sensitive information, like passwords and credit card numbers, that may be transferred between two systems.

What is a web browser?

A web browser (commonly just called a browser) is what takes you somewhere on the internet.  Although most computers and phones come with a browser installed, you have a choice. The most commonly used web browsers are Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple’s Safari, and Opera.

A digital assistant that allows you to do speak a request using voice recognition and language processing algorithms to perform specific commands.

What is Remarketing?

Search engine optimization helps to improve a company’s quality score with Google, becoming an expert in the browser’s eyes. Good SEO allows you to be shown in a high position on search results without having to pay for PPC. Blogs, consistent data, good user experience, and other factors impact your organic traffic. You can often hire a company to help enhance your SEO.

What is Blog?

A series of articles that are included on a website, generally written informally.

What is Vlog?

The same as a blog, only video.

What is a Reel?

It is a short video that you can share on Facebook and Instagram.

What is a Podcast?

Digital audio files that people can download or stream.

What is Content?

Content is “words” on your website.  It is also video, audio, photos with proper tags. The more content on a website, the more browsers like Google can discover and “rank” you.

What is a Keyword?

A word that someone would use to search the web that would trigger an appropriate website to appear.
